With such a diverse range of things to see and places to go it is little wonder Devon is one of the most poular holiday destinations in the UK.
From the historic cities of Exeter and Plymouth to the wild remoteness and beautiful rugged scenery of Dartmoor and Exmoor, Devon has something to interest everyone.
Torbay is probably the most established resort in Devon. Comprising the fishing town of Brixham, archetypal seaside town of Paignton and the upmarket sophistication of Torquay, Torbay is well worth a visit.
Also on the south coast is the beautiful scenery and charming coast of the South Hams with Dartmouth and Salcombe being the most obvious destinations. You'll find no shortage of Devon cottages to rent here either
Towards the Dorset border are the seaside towns of Exmouth and Sidmouth, a resort established since Victorian times. Inland of here are some interesting towns such as Honiton and Tiverton with rich heritage and stunning countryside.
North Devon has gained popularity as a tourist destination over more recent years with fantastic beaches at Woolacombe and Croyde offering great surf and plenty of attractions to make for perfect family holidays. There's also shopping in Barnstaple and the lovely fishing harbour at Ilfracombe, but one of the coast's true jewels is Clovelly, one of the UK's prettiest villages
